I have been looking for a replacement for the original Malaseb shampoo for quite some time. My poor dog has been miserable because nothing was working. This product worked great and the Pet Source employees were great to work with because they patiently answered all my questions. I would definitely use this and Pet Source again!

I'm sure the problem I was addressing can have various causes. I tried for a year changing diet, changing flea medication and a couple shampoos. I ran across a forum discussing this shampoo in this formulation and tried it. After 1 shampoo there was a difference. The vet had said she had not seen elephant skin this bad before but when I asked what to do about it, again it was that it could be diet or could be from other allergens. I noticed a difference in the dog's skin after one shampoo although i think i used half the bottle. For about a month I just watched the hair growing back but within a day or two I had noticed her skin was different. I then gave the dog another bath and again have been just watching the skin looking better and hair filling it where it had not. This may not work for everybody but should probably be step #1. The symptoms were a lot of scratching, losing hair and elephant skin. She smelled bad and the skin felt kind of oily. The hair looked kind of oily but alot of lack of hair all over the underside of the dog. I had read on the internet that this is common with some breeds. It was one of the most amazing transformations as a result of using a product that I have ever seen. Update: I'm not sure when I posted this, but it seems to me it has been about 6 months. Recently gave the dog a bath and used this same shampoo again but I have to wonder at what point she would need it again if at all, anymore. Haircutting now is tough to keep up with. If it helps anyone else diagnose, this dog is a female shitzu and cairn terrier mix and our other dog is a llasa apso purebread who did not have this same issue and I have not used the ketosept on him at all because of that.
